Post Page
Overview
The Post page provides a unified interface for publishing content to multiple social media platforms simultaneously. You can create text posts, upload images and videos, select multiple channels, and schedule posts for future publishing.
Accessing the Post Page
- Sign in to Boring Dashboard
- Click the "Post" button next to "API Keys" in the header

Page Layout
The Post page is divided into three main sections:
Left Section - Content Creation
- Post Content: Text input area with character counter (max 2200 characters)
- Media Upload: Drag & drop zone for images and videos
Right Section - Publishing Options
- Channel Selection: Select which platforms to publish to
- Advanced Settings: Schedule posts for future publishing
- Publish Button: Execute the post
Bottom Section - Scheduled Posts
- View and manage your scheduled posts
Creating Content
Writing Post Content
Enter your post text in the content area. A character counter shows how many characters you've used:
- Maximum: 2200 characters (Instagram limit)
- Threads auto-split: Text longer than 500 characters will automatically be split into multiple Threads posts
Uploading Media
You can add images and videos to your post:
- Drag & Drop: Drag files directly onto the upload zone
- Click to Browse: Click the upload zone to open file picker
Supported formats:
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
- Videos: MP4, MOV
Preview: Uploaded files appear as thumbnails with a delete button to remove them.
Selecting Channels
Smart Channel Selection
Channels are automatically enabled or disabled based on your media:

Platform Rules
- Instagram: Requires at least one image or video
- YouTube: Requires a video file
- TikTok: Requires a video file
- Facebook/Threads: Works with any content type
Multi-Account Support
If you have multiple accounts connected for a platform, a dropdown appears to select which account to use:
- Check the platform checkbox
- Select the desired account from the dropdown
Scheduling Posts
Publish Now vs Schedule
- Publish Now: Default option, posts immediately
- Schedule: Select a future date and time
Setting a Schedule
- Click the date/time picker in "Advanced Settings"
- Select your desired publication date and time
- The publish button will show "Schedule" instead of "Publish Now"
Timezone
All scheduled times use your local timezone as detected by your browser.
Managing Scheduled Posts
The "Scheduled Posts" section at the bottom shows all pending scheduled posts:

Canceling a Scheduled Post
Click the red "Cancel" button next to any scheduled post to remove it before it's published.
Publishing
Publish Button
The publish button shows:
- "Publish Now" for immediate posting
- "Schedule" when a future time is selected
- Number of selected channels (e.g., "Publish Now (3)")
Publishing Process
- Click the publish button
- A loading indicator appears
- Posts are sent to each selected platform
- Success/error messages appear for each platform
After Publishing
- Success: A green notification confirms successful posting
- Partial Success: Some platforms may succeed while others fail
- Failure: Error message explains what went wrong
Troubleshooting
"No channels available"
You need to connect at least one social media account:
- Go back to the main dashboard
- Click "Connect" button for desired platform
- Complete the OAuth authorization
"Instagram requires media"
Instagram doesn't support text-only posts. Add at least one image or video.
"YouTube requires video"
YouTube only accepts video content. Upload a video file (MP4 or MOV).
Media upload failed
Check that your file:
- Is a supported format (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, MOV)
- Is under the size limit (videos up to 100MB recommended)
- Has a stable internet connection
Tips
- Preview your content before publishing - what you see is what gets posted
- Use scheduling for optimal posting times across time zones
- Check all channels are selected before clicking publish
- Monitor the Scheduled Posts section to ensure your posts are queued
- Long Threads posts are automatically split into a thread at 500-character boundaries
